The new PowerBeam AC M5 is part of the new AC series, incorporating 802.11ac technology - providing 256QAM modulation resulting in data rates as high as 450Mbps @ >65dBm. Previous PowerBeam and NanoBeam models were based on 802.11n technology which provided up to 64QAM (270Mbps, but often limited by their 10/100Eth interface to 100Mbps).
Improved Noise Immunity
The PowerBeam ac ISO directs RF energy in a tighter beamwidth, and its integrated isolator design improves RF isolation to spatially filter out interference. With its combination of focused beam directivity and RF isolation, the PowerBeam ac ISO blocks noise to improve noise immunity. This is especially important in an area crowded with other RF signals of the same or similar frequency.
Integrated Radio Design
Ubiquiti’s InnerFeed® technology integrates the radio into the feedhorn of an antenna, so there is no need for a cable. This improves performance because it eliminates cable losses.
Ubiquiti's airMAX® engine with custom IC dramatically improves TDMA latency and network scalability. The custom silicon provides hardware acceleration capabilities to the airMAX scheduler, to support the high data rates and dense modulation used in airMAX ac technology.
Ready to Install
This unit has all networking hardware and surge protection integrated and is completely weatherproof for permanent installation in even the toughest environments. Signal strength indicators allow for quick and easy alignment. For best performance the unit should be roof mounted, high and clear of obstructions, via it's integrated pole mounting bracket.
The units are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) - simply plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the PowerBeam, and the other into the PoE Injector (which is plugged into AC power). This allows one cable to both power the unit and also carry network traffic. We recommend using Cat6 Outdoor UV Shielded Cable with this unit.
