Usage

• The Ubiquiti Wave-Pro (UISP Wave Professional) is a robust 60 GHz radio engineered for extensive Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) connections. It serves as the premier "Station" (CPE) within the Wave product series, providing superior gain and extended range compared to the Wave Nano or Wave Long-Range.

• The device functions within the 60 GHz millimeter-wave spectrum, facilitating exceptionally high throughput with nearly no interference. It is compatible with Wave Technology, which supports gigabit+ speeds that compete with fiber connections.

• The Wave Pro offers an impressive total capacity of 5.4 Gbps (2.7 Gbps for sending and 2.7 Gbps for receiving simultaneously).

• With ultra-low latency (<1 ms), it is particularly well-suited for handling VoIP and video traffic. The 60 GHz signals may experience degradation due to heavy rain (known as rain fade). To mitigate this issue, the Wave-Pro is equipped with a built-in WiFi 6 (802.11ax) 5 GHz backup radio. In the event that the 60 GHz link fails during inclement weather, the device automatically switches to the 5 GHz band. The backup radio is sufficiently robust to deliver over 800 Mbps, ensuring that the connection remains functional even in failover mode.

• Many wireless radios that are limited by a 1 Gbps Ethernet port, the Wave-Pro features an SFP+ cage, allowing it to fully leverage the wireless speed.

• Given that 60 GHz beams are extremely narrow (similar to a pencil), precise alignment is essential. The Wave-Pro is supplied with a precision mount that enables fine adjustments of azimuth and elevation through a screw mechanism.

• Integrated GPS supports location tracking and link planning within the UISP dashboard.
