Usage

The Transtector ALPU-F140 is a high-performance outdoor Gigabit Ethernet and PoE++ surge protector approved under FDOT APL 620- 004-012. 
It is designed to protect Ethernet and PoE equipment from lightning-induced and switching-related surge events in exposed field deployments. 
The ALPU-F140 employs hybrid Silicon Avalanche Suppressor Diode (SASD) and Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) surge protection technology, and features an isolated shield-to-ground topology with a dedicated 20kA GDT to divert high-energy surge currents away from sensitive Ethernet electronics. 
The low voltage protection level performance reduces stress on connected equipment and prevents damage and premature degradation caused by surge events. 
Supporting all Ethernet and PoE protocols up to 1 Gbps and 100W, the ALPU-F140 maintains full data throughput and signal integrity (SI) for pole-mounted and structure-mounted outdoor applications. 
A conformally coated PCB and sealed outdoor enclosure provide long-term corrosion resistance in coastal, high humidity, and harsh environmental conditions.

The ALPU-F140 is engineered for high-stakes environments where "downtime" isn't in the vocabulary. It is most commonly deployed in the following scenarios:

1. Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs)
Protect your tower-mounted radios and backhaul links. By installing the ALPU-F140 at both the top of the tower (near the radio) and the bottom (before the switch), you create a shielded "zone" that prevents surges from traveling down your Ethernet cabling.

2. Outdoor IP Surveillance
High-end PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras require significant power and a stable data connection. The ALPU-F140 handles the PoE++ requirements easily while shielding the camera's sensitive internal logic from static buildup and nearby strikes.
